3 Ways to Reset, mama.

Have you ever had that feeling after a exhausting day, week or month ? The not so friendly feeling often shows up as irritation, frustration and very little patience. I have my share of my own. This is always the cue for me , I need a reset. I need time to refuel the engine within.

As homemakers we are constantly tackling different tasks throughout the day . If you like me you are juggling 3 balls in one hand on a daily basis. From trying to nap the tired baby to helping the toddler go potty and making sure the pasta doesn’t spill over the saucepan. The daily demands can leave you wiped out at the end of the day with little time for yourself.

I’m learning in the season of motherhood , that a reset is crucial . We need rest physically , emotionally and spiritually. When we neglect the rest , we will find ourselves complaining, annoyed and short tempered with the people we love the most , our spouses and children. I know that is not the version I want to be to my family. I want to serve my family with love , kindness , gentleness and patience , which by the way are the fruits of the spirit (Galatians 5:22). I want my kids to see there mama model and live out these wonderful gifts of the spirit that our heavenly father has given to us graciously.

However, in order for me to be able to serve my family with loving attentiveness , I need to take time to find rest. For me that is enjoying the things that fill my cup.

Now , I understand as mothers we often don’t have the capability to take a full day off , I find myself in that season right now , with my second baby of 9 months . Yet , even setting aside 20-30 minutes a day to reset makes a world of a difference .

Here are 3 ways I love to reset ;

1. Reading , opening up my bible and digging in a little longer.

2. Journaling , writing my thoughts and feelings.

3.Going for a walk while listening to my favorite worship playlist.

This allows me to pour into myself and feel refreshed for my family.

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28

Challenge : This week find time to reset and do something you love. So that you can serve your family with a full heart .
